About Epiphany:

Epiphany is a Christian band that was formed by Pastor Chuck Olson of Calvary Lutheran Church during the summer of 2004. Epiphany's current members are members at local Lutheran, and United Methodist Churches. Most of us perform our musical and spiritual talents at these churches as well. Epiphany completed its debut CD titled "1.06" in May of 2006. The number 1.06 is symbolic of the date January 6th, the Epiphany of Christ. Epiphany's purpose is to provide a Christian based performance with the message of Christ in an environment that the entire family can appreciate while enjoying the sound of music. Our performances are adaptable to the needs requested of us in that we are able to play Praise and Worship, Christian Rock, and even requests given to us ahead of time allowing us time to learn a few songs which might be appropriate to a specific event. Please look for Epiphany at your local Christian based functions.

4th Annual, 2009,  Epiphany Christmas Benefit Concert

On Sunday the 13th of December at 4 pm,

@ Grace Lutheran Church in Loves Park, Il.

Epiphany with special guests Jim Waddell and Amy Schultz hosted its 4th annual Christmas benefit concert on December 13 2009 at Grace Lutheran Church. The last three years, we have held this concert at local churches to benefit a person or a family in need. This years concert was for a local organization called "Maya's House". The mission of Maya's House is to provide free, safe, reliable, child-care to homeless families while they are working toward self-sufficiency. I can't say enough about this organization on a page this small, but please click on the blue link to get more information about Maya's House.

With the help and donations this year by both private individuals and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, we are pleased to announce that we were able to raise just over $5,900 for Maya's House and the children that use its facilities.

Shelter Care and Maya's House Link

Maya's House has told me that they are in need of size 4 and 5 diapers, art supplies such as glue sticks - construction paper - easel paper and tempra paint - kleenex - kid friendly food items, 100% juice, batteries of all sizes, paper towels, and cleaning supplies. If you would like to donate materials or time to Maya's House directly, please call Christine Edlen-Korneski at 815-608-7922.

R.A.M.I. Award

"Rockford Area Music Industry"

On April 30th 2009, Epiphany was awarded with a R.A.M.I. award in the "Christian Music" Category for the 2008 season.

We have many people to thank for this award, friends, family co-workers, fans, our parents, and let us not forget Jesus Christ, for He is the one that gives us the ability, and the talent to make Epiphany happen.

Vicci, Jim, John, Cheyenne, Mark, and I would like to thank the person who nominated us, and the many people who voted for us. The award ceremony, held at the Tebala Temple, was filled with many, possibly hundreds, of talented musicians from Rockford and the surrounding area. Visit the link below for more information about the RAMI's, and I am sure that they will update the site with some of this years pictures very soon.

Thrive @ Five

Thrive @ 5 was a Saturday evening come as you are contemporary service held at the Our Masters UMC campus in Rockford. Epiphany was asked to provide music and worship the second and fourth Saturday evenings from January thru May. Thrive @ 5 is now done for the Summer months and, I hear, will be started again this Fall, possibly on Wednesday evenings. Our last Saturday evening was done outside of the building in the lawn, on a beautiful May day. We thank Christ UMC and Our Masters UMC for the opportunity we were given to provide the service we gave. Remember, a church is just a building. The people must be the church for the faith community.

2008 Christmas Concert

On  Saturday, December 6, 2008, Epiphany performed in its third annual Christmas concert with host Jim Waddell and special guest Amy Schultz. The concert was held at Grace Lutheran Church in Loves Park, Il. as a fundraiser for Rockford local Jenna Stahl who was a random shooting victim by an unknown gunman this past Summer of '08 during a backyard BBQ over Labor Day weekend. Jenna suffered a C5 C6 severe of her spinal cord giving her paralysis below her shoulders with only limited movement of her arms. The concert was free with an offering taken, and was followed by a dinner with tickets sold to raise money for Jenna's benefit. We are glad to announce that with donations of food, and donations of money, we were able to raise 5,410 dollars for Jenna. I am told by her parents that his money, and money from another benefit held at Emmanuel Lutheran, the family was only 2,000 dollars short of purchasing a much needed van equipped to transport Jenna to her needed appointments for her therapy.

Wildfire

Epiphany spent the last week of July with a group of youth from four churches coming from Wisconsin and Michigan that did mission work right here in Rockford. The mission was put together by Wildfire out of Milwaukee Wisconsin. www.wildfireumc.org Every evening of their visit, we provided music an praise for their chapel. Our band members also worked with the work groups during the week on several locations throughout the downtown Rockford area. This group was 90% female, and was one of the hardest working groups I have ever worked with. One of the work sites was re-roofing an older house that three previous groups refused to do due to difficulty. This work is being done with help from the Rockford Urban Ministries.

If your kids are ever given the opportunity to do a youth mission work camp trip, I would strongly suggest that they be encouraged to do so.
