Christmas Concert and Dinner Saturday, December 6, 2008
at 4PM
Grace Lutheran Church
343 Grand Ave, Loves Park Il.
Come and join us from 4-6 for Traditional and Contemporary Christmas music in support of good cause. The concert is a free concert with a free will offering to take place. Following the concert Famous Dave's BBQ, and other local providers, will be providing dinner. The cost of a ticket for the dinner will only be 10 dollars per person, to support Jenna Stahl and her family. This will be the third annual fundraiser Christmas concert that Epiphany has done with very special guests Jim Waddell and Amy Schultz. Jenna is a 19 year old graduate of Guilford High School who was at a BBQ on Sept. 1st, Labor Day, 2008 when an unknown gunman shot into the party hitting Jenna in her cervical spine causing it to sever at the C5 C6. Jenna is currently diagnosed as a quadrapalegic. Jenna has a little movement of her shoulders and arms, but none of her hands, or below. Jenna has recently returned from the Chicago Rehab Center, and thanks to a previous generous donation from this community, her family was able to outfit the Stahl home with the necessary improvements to continue Jenna's rehab, and daily life needs. It is the hope of Epiphany and friends, with this concert, to help the Stahl family purchase a van to be converted to assist Jenna with her wheel chair transportation.

Epiphany spent the last week of July with a group of youth from four churches coming from Wisconsin and Michigan that did mission work right here in Rockford. The mission was put together by Wildfire out of Milwaukee Wisconsin. www.wildfireumc.org Every evening of their visit, we provided music an praise for their chapel. Our band members also worked with the work groups during the week on several locations throughout the downtown Rockford area. This group was 90% female, and was one of the hardest working groups I have ever worked with. One of the work sites was re-roofing an older house that three previous groups refused to do due to difficulty. This work is being done with help from the Rockford Urban Ministries.

If your kids are ever given the opportunity to do a youth mission work camp trip, I would strongly suggest that they be encouraged to do so.
The basement of Mike and Vicci Gartner, where Epiphany (www.RockfordEpiphany.com) and the GPS band Waypoint (www.GPS173.com) practice, is nearly finished. We have finished almost 1000 square feet, of which more than half is dedicated to practice space and recording. The ceiling tile was recently installed by Gary Erikson. We ordered carpet on May 27th from Carpet One, and had to cancel it on July 31st due to many delays over 9 weeks. We reordered carpet on August 2nd, from another store, that should be in soon, we hope! I will post pictures once the job is complete.
Epiphany was given the opportunity to play for a conference called "Parenting for the love of it" put on by the Hilltop Ministry Center in Machesney Park, Il.. The conference offered atleast nine classes to parents, with child care for the kids. The Hilltop Ministry Center is a new facility, a must see property put together by the Roscoe United Methodist Church, Beloit Memorial Hospital, the Harlem Community Center, and other organizations that provide regular day care, family counciling, church functions, and more.
December 15th 2007, Epiphany performed a Christmas concert with host Jim Waddell. The concert was a benefit concert for a local man, named Mike Hammer, and his family. Mike has been in a hospital since July of this year, and this benefit concert raised 1,000 dollars for his family. The snow had begun to fall a couple hours before the concert, and we were left with 3-5 inches by its end. It was a beautiful night for a concert, and I thank all of those who braved the elements to attend. Attached is a link to Mike Hammers website, take a peek, and feel free to give a donation if you missed the concert. Merry Christmas from Epiphany, http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/mikehammer
